How doctors accused of serious misconduct continue practicing medicine | Sick Medicine documentary

Sick Medicine, a investigative documentary from KGW News, examines what happens when the people charged with protecting patients and holding doctors accountable fail to do so. The documentary uncovers cases where doctors were allowed to continue practicing medicine even after being credibly accused of serious misconduct, including sexual abuse or gross negligence leading to the death of a patient.

Artist Profile: Allan Kingdom

(Published in the Minnesota Republic, 12/1/2021)

Allan Kingdom, real name Allan Kyariga, is a Canadian born rapper and musician who grew up here in the Twin Cities; St. Paul to be exact. “My musical style is pretty international I would say, I take a piece of myself from wherever my background is, so I was born in Canada, grew up in Minnesota and my parents are East African and South African,” Kingdom explains. “I feel like my style is just bits and pieces of those places.”

A 3x GRAMMY nominated independent, Kingdom has collaborated with the likes of Paul McCartney, Kanye West, Denzel Curry, Flume and many more. His latest single “Breathless” is evidence of his longevity, impact, and unique musical style.

“I feel like we drive a lot in the Midwest,” Kingdom said jokingly. “A lot of my music is for driving and just chilling, so this song is something I feel like I would like to drive around to.” Capitalizing on this ubiquitous aspect of midwestern living, the music video for “Breathless” shows Kingdom rolling around his hometown and features iconic locations throughout the Twin Cities. “I just wanted to represent the community I have grown up in and what I have been doing here lately so I just felt like it was a good visual to tie it all together,” Kingdom explained.

USA Road Trip 2024, Forthcoming Book

In August of 2024 I departed on a two month road trip across the United States. During my journey I traveled through 30 states over the course of 67 days, journeying from coast to coast, and from northern to southern border. Along the way I documented my journey through still images, video, and written word.

The entire journey was catalogued and posted to my Instagram page in the form of still images, and video reels complete with captions highlighting top destinations and hidden gems nationwide.

I am currently in the process of adapting my daily journal into a full length book, with hopes to have a finished manuscript by 2026.

Connor Manley Releases Otherside Of 21

(Published on CountryEvolution.com, 6/25/2021)

Hailing from central Pennsylvania just outside of Harrisburg, Connor Manley just released his second studio album, Otherside of 21. Relatively new to the country music scene, Manley taught himself how to play guitar at the age of 19, and prior to that spent his time writing poetry. “I think I started a little late to the music game,” said Manley. “My playing skills were a little lackluster on the first album, production skills-wise, me and my producer that I work with who is a close friend of mine have both, in our opinion, gotten so much better.”

Westward Expansion

Manley’s debut album, Westward Expansion was released in 2019. When asked about his past work Manley says that “the first album we recorded completely in my studio which is just like a chicken coup that we turned into a studio.” At just 20 years old at the time, Manley says that “it was definitely an exploratory experience, my sound was kind of maturing and you can hear that in the album, sonically there is some stuff over here and some over there.”

Moving forward to his newest project, he is “really excited because I think in every way we kind of stepped it up, this newest project we recorded in Nashville at my producer’s studio, so it is not really about where we record but it is about the process.” He continued,” I think on this album I have kind of honed in a little bit more on what I want to sound like and what I want to write about, all of these things together represent the sheer amount of progress we have made and I am proud.”
